OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY
Who We Are & Where We Come From
Harvest Presbyterian Church is an inter-generational fellowship committed to loving God and loving people. Many of our members are involved in community service clubs like Soroptimist, Rotary, Lions and Persephone. We are committed to impacting the world by participating in Operation Christmas Child (Shoeboxes) and Living Waters for the World clean water initiative. We collect food and money each month for our local food bank, where several of our members donate their time.
We have a Women’s Bible Study each Friday at a member’s home. The Harvest men gather via Zoom each Friday morning at 8:15 a.m. for Bible Study. Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. is our Prayer Meeting via Zoom. The third Friday of the month at 5:00 p.m. is the meeting of the Harvest Mariners, who have dessert, a guest speaker, and fellowship.
The center of our life together is Jesus Christ. Politically we are Democrats, Independents and Republicans, and we take those seriously. But we take our common faith in Jesus Christ more seriously, and Jesus is the one who holds us together.
Harvest Presbyterian Church has been serving Ceres and surrounding communities since 1962. The congregation began worshiping in the American Legion Hall on 9th Street in Ceres. Land was purchased on Moffet Road, and a small sanctuary was constructed in 1964. An office building and a Christian Education wing were added in subsequent years. In the early 1990’s, our modern Worship Center was constructed with modular seating and video projection capability.
